Originally made for Narrative Driven Jam 12. The theme was asymmetry and it made me think of a family tree with unbalanced branches. Missed the deadline and forgot about it for while, but finally wrapped up the loose ends and decided to post it anyway!

In this game, your goal is to piece together your family tree from phone conversations and sticky notes. As you learn information, more stickies will appear and be able to place on your tree by hovering over the right spot. It's rather short, but I hope you like it!

Shoutout to my Tiktok followers for providing feedback on the phone voices and helping guide me to this iteration of this sound effect, where short clips are selected and played randomly to give it a little more realism.

Content warning: death. Nobody dies during the game, but not all the family members are still around. Just a heads up if you don't wanna engage with that right now.

Good simple game! I should go eat dinner! Heh. Nice and short for me not to procrastinate too much!

Didn't read the whole description so I didn't see the warning. Thankfully I didn't need it, but something to note.

Heh, the notepad makes sound! Fun!

omgggg Ms. Reagan i loooove love love this game of yours, it literally inspired me and my group to create a game with similar gameplay. It's called Numero, set in 19th Century Philippines during the Spanish Colonization.

Here's a link if you'd like to check it out:> https://tikele.itch.io/numero

wow we definitely need to speak with the dad. I feel like there's so many ways you can take this. who is Nat's 'donor'? How did Andrew die? Why doesn't papa like dad? These questions need answers! I love your game its really cool!

(+1)

I think it's implied in-game that it might have been uh... I really wish Itch had spoilers. There is the line your mother says about how "Nobody really saw what he'd been going through" and I took that to mean Andrew.

(+1)

I assume Nat's donor is literally a sperm donor, possibly anonymous or just not in the picture by design. It seems like Andrew died by suicide. It also seems Papa was just always going to be hard on whoever his son in law ended up being. Dad didn't ask his permission to marry mom which seemed to bother him. I don't think it's meant to be a severe hatred or anything, just a general dislike which still sucks of course.

We need Andrew lore!!! Did he die under mysterious circumstances ??

its implied he committed suicide

a fun game to pass the time!, the fact everyone is ignoring the subject about andrew says alot

really good, wanted more

It's really cute - wish we could've talked to dad

(+3)

I really enjoyed it I just wish there was more to it but overall so fun

(+5)

This game was cute but felt inconclusive. A credit scene or menu would really help. For a game jam game really good stuff though!!

I loved it 😻 😻 😻

this was such a sweet game to pass time

loved loved lovedddd this game. played while waiting for the eras tour to start at home!

lovely game and tugged at my heart strings <3 thank you for making!

I am not sure if my laptop is glitching or old but whenever I click on the game a sad face pops up and it wont let me play. Idk if I need to download anything because there aren't any links. I don't think its the game glitching because it has done this with another game. If any knows how to solve my problem it would be much appreciated. Thank you

this game was very sweet, keep making amazing games like this, you're going far and i'm following ♥

awesome game!!! really enjoyed it

This game was awesome I loved it. If your ever think of adding something to this game I would love to give you some ideas that would spice up the game if you ever want to reach out and talk about some ways to add more to this game I would love to give you some ideas.

(+7)

I really liked it, it was short and sweet. An ending screen would be nice to avoid any confusion though

I saw the game on TikTok. Sweet and short. The "lopsided" family-tree idea is an interesting theme to explore. I would love to see more of it!

Saw this game on TikTok. I really enjoyed it! Wish there was an ending screen though.

Yes i just played it now as i as it online and thought it'd be fun it was but it ended very fast and i didn't realise so i was calling people wondering if that was it.

(+3)

Love the game! Just wish there was a way to call dad, maybe insisting on doing that with mom or asking his phone number to grandma. Otherwise, it's perfect!

(+11)

Lovely game, I really enjoyed it. Do wish there was an ending screen!

(+9)

Great game! I really liked the story but do wish there was an ending screen so I know the game is finished, I also wish there was an option to speak to the Dad but otherwise I loved it!

(+3)

a cute, cozy game! would love to see it expanded in a future

Great game! It was very relaxing to play. I really love how it shows, that many families have story and meaning behind them. Not only that, but I love how you added LGBTQ+ representation. It also shows a special connection between family and how much it can hurt to loose one too. The relationship between "Papa" and "Dad" also manages to show that many families aren't perfect aswell. I really can't stop rambling about this. I would really like to see more. It would be great if there was more. I'm very interested of what happend to Andrew. It made my day to play this! Thank you.

this is a fun taste of a game with amazing potential, it’d be awesome if you decided to make a bigger version someday

This is such a nice little game. If I'm not mistaken, it's a good look at what a child might understand in the wake of a relative's death by suicide. The way that many of the family members speak about what happened (or in some cases how they don't speak about it) indicated to me that that might be what was going on. I also love that there's representation of donor conceived children and LGBTQ+ families.

(+3)

Really cute hope to see this turn into even more. Wish we could speak to the dad also wouldn't we get the grandpa on dads side as well for the tree since we got the great grandparents who are dead for moms side?

(+2)

This was so sweet. I do wish there was an ending screen though (unless I missed something and didn't get to the end). If you ever add more I'd love for there to be an option to call Dad at some point.

I love this game, I really want the chance to talk to dad though and learn more about Andrew.

that was a nice game, wonder what happened to andrew

(+3)

best game ever played but still want to know what happend to andrew

found this game on tiktok! loved playing this, very relatable for me with having an uneven family tree. very relaxing and the sound effects on everything was satisfying!!

I am in love with this game, but I NEED MORE!!

i came across your tiktok page and i had to try out the game immediately! as someone whose family tree is asymetrical with a similar constellation as well, it added to the homey feel of the game. im excited to see you expand it :))

oml im gonna cri :,((

aww, cute game. i like it!

Does anyone know how to talk to the dad like i'm stuck

You don't talk to the dad, you talk to mom again

I really enjoyed the vibes of this game. I really hope to see you expand on it because it's such a great idea. I think it is really special and id love to see more additions to the family tree and more secrets to figure out

Really lovely, would love to see more of it, maybe even more levels with secret links etc! Super worth a play
